Colon or colorectal cancer may impact the body’s ability to digest and absorb vital nutrients. Treatment may cause various side effects, including weight loss, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, low blood counts and increased risk of infection. Studies have shown that following a healthy balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, lower fat milk products and healthy fats can help promote healing and minimize side effects.
