Sarah’s Journey

Survivor

Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 42. What started as a routine mammogram changed her life completely. When I received the diagnosis, I felt completely alone. Walking through the doors of the Cancer Support Center changed everything. The therapists understood what I was going through. I attended support groups, participated in art therapy, and for the first time, I didn’t feel like I was carrying this burden alone. Three years into survivorship, I’m giving back by volunteering. The Center didn’t just help me survive cancer—it helped me thrive beyond it.

Michael’s Path

Caregiver & Survivor

Michael’s story is one of dual roles—first as a caregiver to his wife, then as someone facing his own diagnosis. When my wife was diagnosed, I became her primary support. I thought I was handling it well, but the stress was eating me alive. When I was later diagnosed, I hit rock bottom. A counselor at CSC helped me understand that asking for help wasn’t weakness—it was strength. Now, both my wife and I are in recovery, and we’re better because we let others support us.

Jennifer’s Hope

CSC Parent

Jennifer’s teenage daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. CSC offered family counseling, and for the first time, they could talk about their fears in a safe space. My daughter’s illness felt overwhelming. Not only was she suffering, but we were all drowning emotionally. The art therapy sessions gave my daughter a way to express feelings she couldn’t put into words. Five years later, my daughter is thriving. But more importantly, our family healed together. CSC wasn’t just my daughter’s support—they supported all of us.
